Before you can do that and before you can make right decisions about your dog's health you need to educate yourself. At least on how to find the perfect vet, if nothing else. We have learned the hard way that no all vets have been created equal. And sadly we are not the only ones. There are some awesome vets out there, but you need to know what to look for. 2) Vaccines ARE the key, but presently we are facing two extremes. Under-vaccination and over-vaccination. Neither is good for your dog. Do your homework, research and titer for core vaccines. 5) Get out and play, couldn't agree more! Walk, jog, play fetch ... spend quality time outside with your dog! Physical activity goes a long way. Some things we learned the hard way:

Yes, it is more expensive but with our two GSDs now, they have not had to be re-vaccinated since we adopted them... It has been almost 5 years... tells you something about the strength of the antibodies.
