Every dog deserves a little something special, but when you want to treat your pup, be sure that you’re choosing only the best snacks and biscuits. After all, you want your dog to be both healthy and happy! So the next time you’re shopping at the store for tonight’s dinner, think of your pup and how you can be sure that he gets serving of veggies too by trying out this great recipe for Veggie Bite Dog Treats. They’re definitely good enough to earn you a big doggie kiss!

Ingredients:

3 cups fresh parsley, minced
¼ cup carrots, chopped fine and drained on a paper towel
¼ cup shredded mozzarella cheese
2 tablespoons olive oil
2 ¾ cups whole wheat flour
2 tablespoons bran
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 cup water

Directions:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees with the oven rack in the middle.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together parsley, carrots, cheese, and oil. In another bowl, mix together bran, flour, and baking powder. Add dry mixture to veggies and mix until well incorporated. Then gradually mix in water to make a moist, but not wet, dough. Add a little less water if needed.

Next, roll out your dough to abut ½ inch thickness. Then, using cookie cutters, cut out shapes and transfer them to a large greased baking sheet. As an extra fun touch, choose bone or dog shaped cookie cutters.

Once the shapes have been cut out and placed on a cookie sheet, bake for 25-30 minutes or until they have browned and hardened slightly. Remove from oven. The treats will become harder as they cool.
Serve to your pup and his playmates and store the rest in an airtight container.
