Ask Rakker: How Can I Help A Homeless Puppy This Holiday Season?Comment RSS

December 11, 2008

Q: Hi Rakker, I was watching tv with my owner, Kim, and I saw a commercial talking about homeless puppies. I got so sad, and had to write in – I can’t bear to see homeless friends! Is there anything we can do to find good homes for my puppy friends? – Josie the Black Lab

Holiday Dog Gifts

A: Hey Josie, I’ve seen those commercials too with my dad, Jeff, and they just make me want to cry! There is something we can do, though – we can urge gift buyers to adopt puppies for their loved one’s gift this holiday season. Of course, it’s important that the recipient want a puppy and definitely be able to properly care for a growing puppy long after the holiday season. If you know a loved one who desperately wants a puppy, why not gift them with one? You can choose from a variety of adorable puppies at your local animal shelter, visit a dog breeder, or find dogs near you who need adopting at sites like:

Then, after ensuring the puppy has had his or her vaccinations, you’ll need all the fun new puppy essentials, like dog beds, a collar, tags, tasty Dog Bones and Dog Treats. Plus, be sure the puppy has all the Dog Grooming Supplies he or she will need to maintain a beautiful coat!

We’re advocates of Dinovite, an all natural dog supplement. Keep your puppy healthy and strong by giving your puppy Dinovite Dog Supplements as she or he grows up! Your puppy will thank you as he grows older and has a healthy body.

Reward your puppy for being just so adorable with Dog Toys!

Let us know if you need any help sculpting your puppy package – we’re happy to help. And remember, when giving a puppy, make sure the recipient will be able to care for the puppy for years to come!

    Hey Rakker,

Long time no see. How is retirement treating you? I’m doing pretty well myself, although I do get a bit tired of hanging out at the house all the time..I could use more walks and trips to the park. I feel like Grandpa Simpson. No respect! I’d definitely rather be working…know what I mean? One of these days I’m going to shred my owners’ Lazy Boy…or maybe even his remote control. That should get me some notice, huh? Those darn young pups, they get all the glory. Replaced by a young female German Shepherd…unbelievable. And my owner can’t leave all my toys out when he is gone because the crazy little rookie working dog likes chew and eat them. What is an old dog to do??
Anyhow, keep your head up and tail wagging, and don’t forget about our glory days at the RDF!

    Robby,

Hi! Long time no bark! I’m doing well, but I agree, I sure do miss sniffing around for those bombs. Me and my Dad keep busy taking care of K-9 Health Solutions….to be honest I really don’t think he could do it without me. I take care of all product testing, it sounds like a lot of responsibility and work, but it is sooooo much fun. Hey, I’ll put in a good word with my Dad and maybe we can send a few products your way to test out for us while your Dad is at work with his new bomb dog, you’d love it!! That new dog of his has a ways to go before she can jump on the product testing team, she might be a little faster, but we have the experience ;) Well, take it easy, before long those dog days of summer will be here, I can’t wait to lay around in the sun and relax.

    Bark at you soon!

Rakker – Retired Bomb Dog / current product tester :)
